Like most arguments, the one today stemmed from something small. Soon, though, emotions were high and "true" feelings emerged. Actual quotes that I may (someday) find amusing:
Mo: How would you feel if I didn't need you?
Jo: You mean, if you could handle things by yourself?
And then there was:
Mo: You don't do anything I ask you to do. (This said after I went and got him lunch, cleaned the house, and was in the middle of folding his clothes for the week.)
Jo: Really. Huh. Interesting.
And, then, of course, my personal favorite:
Mo: I would do anything you asked me to.
Jo: Seriously? You don't do anything I ask you to!
Mo: Really? Name one thing you've asked me to do that I haven't.
If I wasn't so goddamned furious, it would be fucking hilarious. I mean, hello? Reality, let me introduce you to my husband. I don't believe you've met before. . . .

This is the part where you don't think it in your head and hold it in to ward off an argument. This is the point where you let it all out and scare the hell out of him by the sheer vehemence of your temper. Start naming off specific incidences. Write them down if you have to. If he wants to have a pissing match, be prepared to WIN. You've had it, and he needs to know it. Interrupt him, yell over him, and generally disrespect him, but get your point across. Yeah, I know, sinking to his level and all that, but dammit, sometimes they don't understand anything else. If he storms out without saying anything, just know you've won and you were right, and maybe, just maybe he heard you. Now, I'm not saying this is the way to handle every argument, but I do think it's the way to handle this one. In my opinion. Mo really wouldn't like living with me. This is called housebreaking a husband.
