The Nitty-Gritty

January 2002 -- Stop BCP's at age 20, confident we'll be pregnant in no time.

January 2003 - 2006 -- Become extremely familiar with all aspects of TTC.  Utilize charting, temping, OPK's, etc. with absolutely no luck.

April 2006 -- Finally make an appointment at the RE.  I'm only 25 -- what could possibly be wrong?

Summer 2006 -- Diagnosis of MFI made.  RE retires.

Fall 2006 -- New RE takes over.  Wants to redo all tests and run even more.

Fall 2007 -- Three rounds of Clomid and timed intercourse.  No dice.

December 2007 -- IUI #1 w/ Clomid.  BFN.

January 2008 -- IUI #2 w/ Clomid.  BFN.

January 2009 -- IUI #3 w/ injectables.  Early ovulation.  BFN.

February 2009 -- IUI #4 w/ injectibles. Another early ovulation.  BFN.

November 2009 -- FINALLY begin protocol for IVF#1.

December 2009-- Egg retrieval yields 10 eggs, 9 of which fertilize with ICSI.  Transfer two "perfect" 8-cell embryos (Grades 5 and 4+).  One  FOUR blasts for the freezer. :-)  Results finally in: first ever confirmed pregnancy.  Natural miscarriage at 6 weeks.

April / May 2010-- FET #1! Transfer one expanded blast (Grade A+) and two hatching blasts (Grades B/C and C/D). Positive HPT @ 7dp5dt!  Beta #1 = 269, Beta #2 = 761. One heartbeat seen at 6w5d...looking good, baby!

June 2010-- Graduate to OB!  8 week ultrasound reveals a growing baby with a heartrate of 131 bpm. We are devastated, however, when our third ultrasound two weeks later reveals no heartbeat or growth beyond this time.  D&C at 10w5d.

July 2011-- IVF #2 begins! 18 eggs retrieved, 17 mature, 14 fertilize with ICSI.

August 2011 --  Transfer 2 expanding blastocysts (Grade A/B, and B) on Day 5. Two more blasts make it to freeze on Day 6. Excessive peeing begins. Positive HPT 6dp5dt. Digital gets on board 8dp5dt. Hooray!  Er - wait.   Beta #1 = 14.5 at 10dp5dt. Shit. Chemical pregnancy confirmed three days later.

March 2012 -- FET #2.  Transfer two blastocysts (one expanding, Grade B -- the other not-so-hot).  BFN.

July 2013 -- IVF #3. 5th embryo transfer (2 blasts, both grade A/B) results in a positive beta (71 @ 8dp5dt, 178 @ 10dp5dt).  One beautiful baby with a strong heartbeat (148 bpm!!) seen just shy of 7 weeks.

March 2014-- Baby Boy makes his debut after a long induction, labor, and delivery.  We are smitten.

July 2015: FET #3 (6th embryo transfer).

March 2016: Another healthy baby boy.  I'm in awe.
