Our Journey

We have struggled with infertility for the past twelve (gulp!) years. We have been trying actively to have kids since January of 2002, without a single indication that we would ever get pregnant. It took 8 years, 100+ cycles, laproscopic surgery, Clomid, injectables, and four failed IUI's, before we attempted IVF. Christmas of 2009, we were ecstatic to learn we were finally pregnant! We were dealt a devastating blow, however, when we miscarried a few weeks later. We decided to try again and FET #1 resulted in another pregnancy. After seeing and hearing the heartbeat at 8 weeks, we discovered two weeks later that we had lost our second baby. We decided then to take a year off to grieve and work on our marriage. In July/August of 2011, we completed another round of IVF. A few positive pee sticks later, we learned that our beta was already falling and we lost our third baby at 4.5 weeks.  After a failed FET in March of 2012, we sought  additional expertise from a third RE who specialized in "tough" cases such as ours.  A year later we began our third, and final, IVF.  We got pregnant for the fourth time, and I delivered our son in March of 2014.  A third FET in the summer of 2015 resulted in a second healthy pregnancy, and our second son was born in March of 2016.
